Board of Directors

Mr. Arup Basu
Mr. Arup Basu is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors. He is also the Managing Director of Refnol Resins & Chemicals Ltd. Mr. Basu brings to Nyayika his vast experience in business management, administration and policy formulations for efficient and sustainable operations of the company. Mr. Basu is a BE Chemical Engineering from IIT, Bombay and has obtained a postgraduate management degree from IIM, Ahmedabad.
Mr. Gagan Sethi
Mr. Gagan Sethi is an Organization Development expert, a Dalit rights activist and the founder member of Janvikas and Centre for Social Justice, the parent organization of Nyayika. He is on the board of several organisations in India. His expertise lies in Governance of Non Profit Organisations, Training and Organisational Development work. He is a MSW from MS University, Baroda.
Mr. Rajendra Joshi
Mr. Rajendra Joshi is the founder of SAATH Charitable Trust. He brings to Nyayika his expertise in developing non-profit sustainable business models. He has received the Schwab Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award for 2009, listed amongst 50 “Pioneers of Change” by India Today in July 2008; is an Ashoka Fellow, September 2008; and was awarded the Karmaveer Puraskar, by iCONGO, as a Real Wealth Creator for the communities on the 26th November, 2008.
Ms. Nupur Sinha
Ms. Nupur Sinha is the Executive Director and Founding Member of the Centre for Social Justice and Indian Institute of Paralegal Studies. She is a Law Graduate from National Law School, Bangalore. She is a legal activist working in Gujarat on Dalit Rights, Tribal Rights, Women’s Rights, and Minority Rights. She has developed the concept and practice of Social Justice Lawyers and Community based Paralegals.

Core Team

Ms. Azima Girach
Ms. Azima Girach is the Program Manager at Nyayika. She has an experience of 12 years working with Centre for Social Justice (CSJ). She started as a senior lawyer at Himmatnagar Centre of CSJ (Sabarkantha, District of Gujarat). She is one of the core members of CSJ and has supported in setting up various centres of CSJ before taking the responsibility of Program Manager in Nyayika.
Ms. Seema Chhipa
Ms. Seema Chhipa is the Chief Operating Officer at Nyayika. She has an experience of 15 years working with Centre for Social Justice (CSJ). She started as a paralegal at the Palanpur (Banaskantha) centre of CSJ and was the Zonal Manager at CSJ before moving to Nyayika.

Advisors and Panel Lawyers

Ms. Shilpa Shah
Ms. Shilpa Shah is an advocate in the High Court of Gujarat and advises Nyayika in High Court litigation. She has been practicing law since 1992 and has practiced for 13 years exclusively on the criminal side. She has been the counsel for the Central Government and Indian Railways at the High Court. Together with her practice, she is pursuing Masters in Law.
Mr. Sandeep Purani
Mr. Sandip Purani is an advocate practicing law in the District Courts of Vadodara. He is an expert in procedural law and advises Nyayika Associates in their Civil and Revenue matters.
Mr. Arvind Lodaya
Mr. Arvind Lodaya is trained in Industrial Design, but his work spans virtually every design discipline. He consults with industry, NGOs and research groups, and has taught at various institutes of design in India. He has been involved in several startups, including an environmental NGO, a strategic design consultancy and a design business incubator. At Nyayika, he provides inputs on design and outreach strategy. The term “Nyayika” and its logo are his creations.
